DESCRIPTION:All Rocky Mountain Sisters are invited to this Front Range tradition\, our holiday brunch at the Grange near Boulder and Longmont. (Please note: there is also a holiday brunch in the South Front Range\, Castle Rock this year on the preceding Saturday\, November 12.) All Sisters are invited to both events. Because of unpredictable weather and road conditions at this time of year\, Sisters may elect to choose one of the two events closest to them.\nGet in the Holiday Spirit as we enter the Season of Giving!\n\nJoin us at the Altona Grange for our annual Holiday Brunch\nThere are two “gifting opportunities”.\n1. We are giving to The Safe Shelter of St. Vrain\, please bring a donation of your choice.\n“The mission of Safe Shelter is to provide safety\, support and resources to individuals affected by domestic abuse.”\nTheir wish list changes from time to time but has things like:\nPJ's especially in plus sizes for moms and small sizes for kids. Robes are helpful too.\nLuggage*** is a good one as many come with garbage bags and it can improve self esteem to be able to organize your stuff into a suitcase.\nSocks\, underwear\, diapers\, over the counter meds for babies and adults\, hair products\, paper products for meals . Personal care/ pampering gifts or books for the moms. In the words of Shelly\, the Advocate who usually coordinates the holiday gifts: “Moms get ZERO gifts for themselves. Zero”.\n“We usually get overloaded with stuffed animals and simple school/art supplies like construction paper and crayons\, so those are not as useful.”\nFor suggestions about cash contributions and more ideas please go to their web site. www.safeshelterofstvrain.org\n\n2. Sisters Dirty Santa exchange! $20 limit. Please bring a wrapped (purchased or handmade) gift or ornament for this fun "stealing game".\nYou can include a card or put your name on it or not\, your choice.\n\nSister Potluck\nSisters with even numbers — bring a salad or main dish to share. (Odd numbered Sisters brought food last year and will have another turn next year.)\nThe Grange kitchen has two ovens\, a cook top\, a microwave oven and a refrigerator.\n\nEveryone\nMake sure to bring your own table service\, including cup or glass\, silverware and don't forget a bowl for soup! Also BYO wine/beverage.\nCoffee\, tea\, and water will be provided.\n\nWe need 10 Sister volunteers to make desserts: Please e-mail or call Julia to be on the dessert list: julia@juliamcsherry.com 504 884-1209.\nThis is a great Meet and Greet event for both new and older sisters and a great time to bring an interested "Sister on the Try" friend\, so guests are welcome.\nPlease RSVP by November 6.\nThe cost is $10.00 per person but do not pay until you arrive. If you bring a guest be sure you RSVP for each of you. (If you RSVP and weather or something keeps you from attending\, please let us know.)
