Making Lasting Memories, one postcard at a time.
I was born into a military family in 1953. Florida was always home base because my parents were from the small towns of Mulberry and Medulla. As we moved every 2-3 years, I learned to love new adventures, including camping vacations in an incredibly old (new back then) canvas French tent. When I was very young, we also had a small trailer. We were so fortunate to travel and live all over the world. My husband and daughter are travel fanatics, too. We have been on guided tours to some locations, but prefer to build our own adventures.I studied Interior Design at the University of Florida. I graduated in my late 20s – I have always been interested in art and design, and was misdirected along the way until I decided to do what I love. I purchased my trailer from Taylor Coach, a small trailer-making company in Milgrove, Ontario. The major attractions for me were the excellent quality, ability to design the layout, and customer service from builders who are themselves campers. Because they are so well-made, they are often passed down for generations. I designed a counter across the front so I can watercolor and do digital scrapbooking.
I decided to create a postcard journal for those who attended the event I hosted. I drew from various experiences to create the journal.
Postcards create instant photos for a journal, and as my mind is now too full of information to completely retain all the new details, LOL. I love the idea of having a recorded adventure. I will also write about people attending events – I have so many memories and experiences with wonderful Sister events, and I do not want them to fade away.
