Twenty Volunteers. Eight Rooms. Changed Lives.

0
During the summer of 2025, Sister Corps mobilized over 20 volunteers across several weekends to support Loving Grace in Joplin, Missouri. Together, they transformed the facility into a welcoming space for women in need by painting hallways and eight bedrooms, installing new flooring and molding, and refinishing exterior railings. In addition, volunteers crafted 20 handmade quilts—eight for the current residence rooms and the remainder for residents to take with them when they transition to independent living.

Beyond these physical improvements, the team fulfilled an Amazon Wish List of essential items, including bedside lamps, feminine care products, and sheet sets. Individual members of Sister Corps and Sisters on the Fly generously purchased 100% of the requested items.

Paraphrasing Trina Davis, Executive Director of Loving Grace:

Sister Corps has made an extraordinary impact on Loving Grace. As a nonprofit serving young women ages 18-24 transitioning out of foster care or escaping unsafe conditions, our resources are limited. Sister Corps stepped in without hesitation to provide essential updates that were beyond our financial means. They did not just renovate our building; they provided home essentials and handmade touches that offer our residents comfort and dignity. Beyond the physical work, these volunteers set a powerful example. They demonstrated that women can tackle hard labor like home renovation while modeling the importance of compassion and community. They showed our young women what it means to give back.

With my deepest gratitude thank you, Trina Davis
